My newsletter “Three Threads” is an invitation to pause and deepen into the fullness of our human experience with creativity as our guide.
A couple of years ago I found myself growing frustrated (and exhausted) at how siloed the most important areas of my life felt. There was the part focused on creativity–my own artwork and writing. There was the spiritual part, the part that longed to deepen my connection to the sacred. And then there was the social justice aspect, which I’ve come to understand as working towards true inclusion, a belief that we can only experience the fullness of our human experience by being open to the fullness of others.
I grew tired of trying to juggle these three threads, so I decided instead to see if I could merge them together. But what would that look like? Could I do this with joy, embracing the inherent challenges? The tapestry I’m working to weave is a life that involves honest, authentic, and deeply meaningful connection to one’s self, one’s community, and to the sacred, however one defines that. It’s the work I’m endeavoring to do for myself and the work I’m most interested in doing with others.
So, the Three Threads project was born, a free monthly newsletter featuring a different work of art from across time and geographies, along with a brief reflection about why I chose it, and a prompt to deepen into your own life and creativity. If you’d like this inspiration more frequently, you can subscribe for the weekly newsletter by clicking on the button below.
I’m hoping Three Threads will provide the kind of regenerative, creative pause many of us are missing in our lives.
I hope you join me!
